The Shepherd's Hut was inspired by my love of being in outside spaces and listening to the trills and chirps of bird song, the caw of a crow, the screech of a Jay, and the hum of bees. The Jay has a special relationship with the Oak tree as the acorn is a favoured food source. Over the course of Autumn several thousand will be buried or cached widely by a single Jay, and many of the acorns are never retrieved. This allows the acorns to germinate and grow into saplings outside of the woodland they were foraged from, a major factor in Oak tree dispersal.
