Large Blue & Wild Thyme Framed Original

A pencil and watercolour original of Large Blue Butterflies and Wild Thyme with notes. Framed in a refurbished gilded oval frame, with glass. Small hole for hanging on the back. Dimensions 22.5cm x 17cm.

The Large Blue is the largest and rarest of the UK's blue butterflies. It's recognisable by the black spots on its upper forewing. Only found in the South West of England where it was reintroduced after becoming extinct in 1979. The Wild Thyme plant is where the Large Blue lays its eggs and is the initial larval food source.
