I always feel blessed when I come across a Hare, to me they're magical creatures. I often see them where I walk, in an area of mixed grassland, farmland, and wooded edges. They need a diverse patchwork or mosaic of habitats for food and refuge, and part of their varied diet are arable weeds such as Shepherd's Purse (I love the heart-shaped seed pods!). The latin name Capsella bursa pastoris literally translated means small box / purse / of a shepherd. The Latin name for Hare is Lepus, and is also the name of a constellation near Orion - magical indeed ✨💫
