Hare & Shepherd's Purse Framed Original

An original, painted in emulsion on paper of a Brown Hare, with Shepherd's Purse in the foreground. Presented in a refurbished gilded, distressed wood frame, with glass. Small hole for hanging on the back. Dimensions 18 x 13.5cms. Please be aware that as my wildlife originals are framed in pre-loved frames, with their original backings and glass where possible, there may be imperfections.

I always feel blessed when I come across a Hare, to me they're magical creature. I quite often see them where I walk, in an area of mixed grassland, farmland, and wooded edges. They need a diverse patchwork or mosaic or habitats for food and refuge, and part of their varied diet are arable weeds such as Shepherd's Purse (I love the heart-shaped seed pods!). The latin name Capsella bursa pastoris literally translated means small box / purse / of a shepherd. The Latin name for Hare is Lepus, and is also the name of a constellation near Orion - magical indeed ✨💫
