I always feel blessed when I come across a Hare, to me they're magical creatures. I quite often see them where I walk, in an area of mixed grassland, hedgerow, farmland, and wooded edges. They need a diverse patchwork or mosaic of habitats for food and refuge. Part of their varied diet are arable plants such as Shepherd's Purse (I love the heart-shaped seed pods!), and grasses and herbs, such as Greater Stitchwort (the other white wildflower in this illustration), which happens to be one of the adult foodplants of the Orange Tip butterfly.
