A dresser always feels like a potted family history, a place where everyday life quietly accumulates. There are the familiar “mystery drawers” filled with odd chargers, bolts, Lego pieces and long-forgotten keys. When I paint scenes like this, I’m reminded how much meaning sits in the ordinary corners of our homes. Creativity often begins there, in noticing the small, comforting details that ground and connect us.
