Autumn Barn was inspired by a trip to New England just before the fall many years ago. I fell in love with the buildings, bridges, the scents of apple and maple, and the colours in the landscape - just beautiful. The owl in the tree is a Little Owl, the smallest owl in the UK and widespread in England and parts of Wales. They can sometimes be seen during the day on farmland, parkland, orchards and open woodland. The species is in decline, and there are ongoing monitoring projects to help with conservation.
